MEET THE CANDIDATE - Tom Ives for Guilford Town Councilman

I am a lifelong Town of Guilford resident, growing up on the local family farm just outside of the hamlet of Guilford.  My parents instilled many values in me, dedication, integrity, and honesty. These values have made me who I am today .  There is no substitute for hard work!!

The farm remains in the family, being run by my brother and sister in law and their two young sons  I take great pride in the active role that I continue to play in the farms success.  I take great pride in what the Town of Guilford is able to offer to it's residents.

Early in my life I developed a passion for agricultural and the farm industry, working towards and earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Agricultural Equipment .  I have spent my life working for a regional agricultural dealer for more than 35 years, most of those years in service management.

Through this work I have had the ability and pleasure to meet and interact with many of our Town of Guilford residents and their families.  My expertise in my chosen career field has revolved around management of equipment and the efficient utilization of the resources available. 
I have enjoyed working with the public in both my professional and personal life, including my role as a Town of Guilford Board member for the past 20 years.  It is important to me that the residents of the town of Guilford work together to sustain and grow our community for future generations.

I continue to proudly live in the Town of Guilford with my fiancé Linda.  We are blessed with 5 children and 3 beautiful grandchildren.  Family, honesty, integrity and hard work continue to be the values that we instill in our children and will instill in our grandchildren.

In my years of my service on the Town of Guilford Board, I have supported and assisted in improvement initiatives involving our roads, water systems, parks and community infrastructure.
I take great pride in my role as one of your elected Guilford Town Board members and I look forward to your continued support in my role as a board member in the future.
